no, sadly not .. I do get the same errors on i386 and amd64!

Then give it a try and switch to bash,
I have read about problems in squeeze using dash. It would not hurt anyway.

Ok, here are the news:

Lorenzodes and me fixed all open issues regarding compiling (gcc 4.5, libtool 2.4, internal-ffmpeg, etc.).
With latest revno (2284) all variants for Debian/Ubuntu build as they should again ;)

That said, fresh packages for Debian (etch, lenny, squeeze & sid) and *buntu (karmic, lucid, maverick, natty) are in build/upload queue and will arrive asap.

Reason was Debian is evil :lol:

Actually they changed a few things in gcc.

AFAICS it compiles now smooth under gentoo as well.
