I have my own lauchpad ...

I really appreciate your work and really' would like to test, but I can't get your python plugin compiled. See here: http://forum.mymediasystem.org/viewtopi ... =7939#7939

And yes - that answers my question, although it's not exactly what I wanted to hear ;-)

Thanks a lot.

Andreas

And would you keep the download-link in our wiki uptodate?

I don't have permission to edit the wiki page, but if I change the download link or update the code I will post it in the forum.

Do you mean the python plugin code (C++) or the joox python script?

I mean the joox script! We discussed a lot of features and extensions here...

Niclas - It's not a feature discussion right now. In general we are talking about
  • the ability to edit the wiki
  • the responsibility to enter the wiki
  • the ability/responsibility for the flyspray bug base.
  • the input-text-field extention for the python plugin
  • the situation how python development and MMS development deverges sometimes
  • and about the compile error on a FC8 system regarding the python plugin

And yes - it all - more or less - affect this Mediathek plugin, but we are talking about the preparations, and not about the Pyglet itself. We (Me) have to solve some probs first, before you/we go straight to the development of the Mediathek plugin.
Regards,
Andreas

I have my own lauchpad account for the python plugin, sad to say it's not linked by any way to the mms source at launchpad. The problem is that the source for the python plugin (in the mms tree) contains code that I didn't add (opengl compatibility, and other updates when mms code changed).

The way it worked was that arj got the code from my lauchpad account and updated it with the new stuff that was needed (opengl, ...) and then added it to the mms tree. So the two repositories (mms and my "private" python plugin) are out of sync.

That's why I posted a diff with the input textfield. The diff contains changes I made to the current python code in the mms tree, and not in my own repository. I you want to try the new python code you need a resent copy of the mms source and then apply the diff I posted.

We obviously need a better way of doing this, because like it is now I don't know what changes arj do, and arj doesn't know what changes I do :?

I hope this answered your question.

Yes. I try to only make minimal changes to the python plugin in the main branch. So merging should be pretty easy I hope ;-) I could give you write access to the main repository so you can commit there.

Another thing is that there are bugs regarding the python plugin getting reported in the bug db and I don't know if you get those emails at all.

No, I must admit I haven't thought about it much. I have focused on updating the python plugin code.
It would be great if the plugin checks a folder for the containing parser modules so everybody can write a parser, copy that file in a modules folder and a new service is integrated.

Perhaps we can set up a website on which the parser modules are provided. If a new parser module is coded, it can be installed like downloading a movie.

It's an exiting thought and I volunteer to participate when I get the other stuff finished.

This would be the best solution, then we will edit the same code :D

Nope, I haven't received any mails regarding bugs in the python plugin, but I try to check it with some regularity.

I have now created a team-mms on launchpad. You should be able to commit to the following branch:

https://code.launchpad.net/~team-mms/mms/1.1.0
