New Wiki Main Page

Postby acmelabs » Fri Jun 09, 2006 9:30 am

I disigned a new Main Page for the MMS Wiki. The page is not active yet. It's the very beginning, so there is a lot of work to do. There is no content at all at the moment. I first wanna be sure the structure's OK.

Please take a look and feel free to comment or modify.

Thanks in advance,

Andreas

p.s.: Thanks to Nutcase for adding me to the sysops at Wiki

Excellent!

2 things left for me ...

1. Shouldn't we make the ordering a little chronological?
Download -> Installation -> Configuration -> Usage ...

2. How would you like to fill up "Configuration" ?
Examples is clear ... but the other two? configfile should only be the config file and what should go into module options ?

The structure looks good.

Might be a good idea to move "Writing Bugreport" to "Known problems" and rename that section to something like bugs.

Yes, of course. The Idea is to see the important parts in the upper region of the screen. Tell me please how like the "Number"- thing.

Well, these are the things that rack my brain at the very moment.
I just need a fast, easy and most of all pragmatic solution for it.
please, please, please - give me suggestions!

Thanks Roman,

Andreas

I think we should leave it as configuration (configfile, input-*) and examples ...

in download we can also have preconfigured configfiles (sdl, dvb) like we have for dxr3 now by installation.

module options could come up with 1.1.0 ... having plugins (modules) :)

New Main Page

Postby acmelabs » Sun Jun 11, 2006 10:46 pm

Hello all,

maybe some of you have already seen the link on the Main Page of the Wiki to the "New Main Page". There is not much content yet, but a few things are already linked and populated. Check it out for yourself.
Image upload is not working yet. So there are no screen shots or other graphics yet. I could set links to my private web-server, but I don't like to do that.

Nutcase knows about that, and I'm waiting for him to fix it.

Comments and contributions and/or changes welcome.

Thanks,

Andreas.

Missing in the wiki

Postby acmelabs » Tue Jul 11, 2006 1:53 pm

Hello everybody

The basic structure of the wiki is ready, and most sections are filled with content.

This is still missing:
    o Installation for Suse
    o Installation for Gentoo
o Module Config (this is going to be the most work!)
    o User's Guide/MMS Basics is poor yet
    o No version-dependent documentation yet

The quality of the content (the part I wrote) is poor. Help appriciated.
My personal wish: would be nice, if the docu for suse and gentoo would look like the debian-one.

Thanks Roman, very good changes.

Hi Andreas :)

You've done an awful good job !! :D

    o User's Guide/MMS Basics is poor yet

I've added a Ubuntu-Dapper guide ... I'm a debian :)
So Gentoo and Suse ( )will not be my job ..
Is someone using Suse out here?

But I'll see what I can do ...

The quality of the content (the part I wrote) is poor.

Who said so?
Help appriciated.

certainly ...

Thanks Roman, very good changes.

It was just a quick "overflight" :)

I was afraid you say that ;-)

I've linked that already. Tremendous good job!

Well, I know one who is on gentoo, you know ;-)
But I'll see what I can do ...

Oh, I realize crap if I see some, especialy if it's one of mine. But I think of this wiki more as proposal. There are experts out there, who could correct my mistakes.

hehe, I've read it while you were typing it. No I'm joking, but I've already read it.
That's what I've been talking about. This is expert stuff, and this is good that way!

Superb!! :D

How can I delete pages I have started ?

Maybe we should discuss the ordering!? Cause I'm not satisfied with usability for checking out dependencies, etc ...
