Using VLC ins 1.1.0

Postby heymish » Fri Feb 13, 2009 2:43 am

HI

I am using MMS 1.1.0 RC9 in Ubuntu 8.10. I have used the standard packages with mms-movie-generic

I am wanting to use VLC as my media player and have been setting up the GenericPlayerConfig and genericplayer.ops. Which is working well.

The qustion I have is to get VLC to shutdown after the video has finished I need to add vlc:quit at the end of the options basicly add the quit at the end of the play list. Is there a way in the GenericPlayerConfig to add vlc:quit after the filename of the video has been passed to the player?

Code: Select all

vlc --fullscreen videofile.avi vlc:quit

No, it's a limitation of the genericplayer plugin.

Please, open a feature request and I'll try to add that before 1.1.0 final.

Thanks.

You can call a script which parses the call of mms an adds the vlc:quit at the end. Have a look @ Debvision thread. I´am writing a phyton-wrapper script and it will be released till the end of the week.

I have added the %@ shortcut to the generic player config options.

It is a placeholder for "file names".

You could then write the option line like this:
vlc --fullscreen %@ vlc:quit

which will be expanded to:
vlc --fullscreen videofile.avi vlc:quit

If %@ is not present, files will be appended to the end of the string as per usual.

Give me today to test it for regressions and tomorrow I will commit the patch.

Thanks.

Patch is up. It will be included in the next release. It can be tested using the bzr branch.
