evdev not fully implemented yet?

Postby loswillios » Mon Feb 08, 2010 12:02 pm

Hi guys,

I'm trying to configure my USB-Remote (Terratec Cinergy T2), where the IR-receiver is built inside the DVB-box. It works quite nicely and reports itself as /dev/input/event3. I can use LIRC with the 'devinput' driver just fine. However, I'd like to directly use evdev, since it's a lot cleaner and faster than this unnecessary LIRC stuff in between.

Unfortunately, there's only a minimal input/evdev/default with just a few buttons in there. MMS complains about missing audio, movie, ... config files but adding them doesn't make the buttons work.

I found this post by arj on the forum: viewtopic.php?p=3909#p3909 :
I'm not sure if mms support input events like the up and down since they do not behave exactly as a button press (they have position). The code was added by a french guy a long time ago, Nvignot was his nick if I'm not mistaken.

So no chance for an evdev input system that supports all buttons in MMS?
