Inotify-tools on Feisty & Etch (3.12)

Postby Uatschitchun » Thu May 24, 2007 1:11 pm

Hi there ...

For those of you testing latest MMS-devel (1.1.0) it's interesting to have

Code: Select all

inotify-tools

installed ;)

As there's a problem with the debian-package, it's not available for apt as binary ... only source.

In Wiki I have written Howto on how to install it from source the debian-way.

I had a talk with Anders about what version to use in IRC few days ago, so I thought I add a few notes on how to update the sources and install latest version 3.10 (tow)

Here you are:

As an idea of parti02 I did a build on inotify-tools-3.10 for feisty and added it to my repository ...
So no selfcompilation is neccessary anymore and 1.1.0 installation will be ease and fun :P

Just add

Code: Select all

deb http://www.prodeia.de/mms/feisty binary/
deb-src http://www.prodeia.de/mms/ source/

to your sources.list (2nd line only if you need the sources, too) and install via

Code: Select all

apt-get update && apt-get install inotify-tools

A few lines were added to the wiki, too ...

Feisty will stay on 3.3 (if this one get's uploaded again). 3.10 will only be available through backports, so I decided to help out here.

Have phun
