Yes, the news are always updated in 1st post ;)

Sadly revno 2103 came too late ... if it's working, I'll add it ...

After upgrade on Debian Lenny:
Config: Opening configuration file /etc/mmsConfig
CONFIG: Config file not found /etc/mmsConfig
CD/DVD not configured properly and media enabled in Config, exiting
Almost there ;)

The latest debs are suffering from a bug in revno #2104 ... new debs are on the way!

Workaround until then:

Start MMS with

Code: Select all

mms -c /etc/mms/

I stick on here...
I installed mms Lenny Packages and while starting mms an segmentation fault occurs.

I´m using Kernel:

Linux version 2.6.28-1+etobi.1-686 (Debian 2.6.28-1+etobi.1) (etobi@debian.org) (gcc version 4.3.2 (Debian 4.3.2-1.1) ) #1 SMP Mon Feb 23 23:47:06 UTC 2009

from e-tobi (because of his VDR).

After removing Packages using
"apt-get remove mms"
and reinstall them using
"apt-get install mms"
the /etc/mms/Config file is absolutely empty.

What shall i do?

Here is my console output:

Code: Select all

debian-vdr:/etc/mms# mms -u root
Running mms as user root (uid=0)
Vollständige Liste aktiver Gruppen für Benutzer root
  - gid=0 (root) - main/default group

You have chosen to execute mms with superuser privileges.
This is highly discouraged and it constitutes a security risk.
I hope you know what you're doing.

Config: Ãffne Konfigurationsdatei => /etc/mms/Config
CONFIG: Konfigurationsdatei nicht gefunden /etc/mms/Config
CD/DVD nicht korrekt konfiguriert und Wechselmedien in der Config aktiviert, beende

Um Konfigs wiederherzustellen:

the reason you have to use dpkg --force-confmiss is because whenever your config files are gone, dpkg assumes you deleted them on purpose, and that you want them to stay deleted. You can also reinstall them using the following apt-get line: apt-get -o DPkg::Options::="--force-confmiss" --reinstall install <packagename>

Best would be to install mms-dbg and run mms from within gdb! with that we get a backtrace and are able to fix the problem!

What I'd like to ask:
Is there a need for amd64 packages for debian?

I'm able to build amd64 here ;)

I just refused to do so, cause it results in uploading twice as many packages ... each package-set is app. 80MB in size. As I build etch, lenny, sid, this results in 250MB upload. Adding amd64, too, it woiuld double ... Sadly there's no build-service like PPA for Debian ;(

I'll see to get my pbuilders running for amd64 and upload them as well ... we now have final, so not much changing anymore.
