Light Media Scanner

It's not really a feature request, but a interesting project I want you to know of. I didn't test it yet, but it sounds interesting! It's Lighr Media Scanner: Lightweight media scanner meant to be used in not-so-powerful devices, like embedded systems or old machines. Provides an optimized way to re...

Hi, If you look at this code : http://eesprit.free.fr/mms/python/filemanager.tar.gz you should find a Dialog class in it, this could help you implementing your own ones. Basic idea is that Dialogs are just Windows that should be modal and return some value (or not). That's what the Dialog.getChoice...

menus, messagebox, dialogbox in python scripts

Hi all, I'm just playing a bit with python to make a cd-burning plugin for MMS. I don't know If I'll get it to work, but I found a little python script that lets you burn cds an dvds from the commanf line that uses the standard burning tools, so I decided to try to convert it in a graphical MMS plug...

hi, I'm not so expert with X, but I think the problem is you need a window manager to run multiple graphical applications. You can solve the problem by installing the lightest window manager you can find, ie ratpoison or fluxbox. Don't know if there's a way to do it without using a wm. hope this helps

Hi all, thx for yours reply. [cut] - no digital audio, kernel does support this? I spent a night to hear digital audio from my debian box yesterday, and now I know how hard is to make it work in a live distribution. I really like the geexbox generator philosophy in this situations: you got a custom...

Hi, the GData python library should help, and someone already did it. Totem includes a youtube plugin: http://tecnocode.co.uk/?page=blog&action=view_item&id=63 and there's a 50 lines of python code to build a simple gtk application: http://arstechnica.com/journals/linux.ars/2007/10/16/using-...

Hi Roman, thanks for your work. I just installed mms over a fresh minimal debian installation. I did apt-get install mms-audio-xine mms-input-lirc mms-movie-cxfe mms-plugin-game mms-plugin-picture and it installed mms-plugin-movie, cxfe, xinelib and all the other dependencies. Audio works fine on my...

hi, I didn't fully tested it, but I have some thoughts: -squashfs file seems to big, is there any chance that you can slim it down? I think of my system that runs only 256MB; maybe you can use ratpoison or any other light windows manager instead of kde. -it would be great if you can add the "la...

I know of your project from that distro, since I was looking for a light epia-centered linux version for my former carpc. Re: Build and Runtime Requirements

Hi, don't know what is running beneath buildroot [Slackware|Debian|Fedora|Mandriva|Gentoo], but you can see nicely the dependencies here: http://forum.mymediasystem.org/viewtopic.php?t=1040 for a Gentoo system.
