Touchscreen with RS232 or USB

Hello,

does anyone know the difference between a Touchscreen monitor with Serial (RS232) or USB connection for the touch function?
Can i use them the same way (with Debian or Ubuntu)?

After a few evenings trying to get the hardware booting from an USB stick i will head over to a normal harddisc installation. First i tried to install Debian from CD directly to the stick but got the error mentioned above. Then i tried Antix linux (antix2usb). The hardware does not even noticed the ...

Hi,

i don't think that i installed more than 4GB of software.
I think the problem of grub was the size of the partition of the stick.

My plan is to install Debian without a graphical system.
After that install LXDE...
I already tried this in a VM.

Hi, i'm currently installing debian on a 4GB usb stick. The first installation ended up ins a GRUB failure message "error: out of disk". I think the problem was the size of the partition: 4GB. Now i try it with a smaller / directory (1.6GB). May it be possible to install Debian in a VM and...

I think there is one screenshot that is maybe not related to MMS :wink: .

Read somewhere that listen to radio streams is only possible with Xine...

Download the m3u and open it. Copy the URL to RadioStations. That worked fine for me. With Shoutcast I did it the same way. Hi, that is what i did with this stream: Bayern3, http://gffstream.ic.llnwd.net/stream/gffstream_w12a ...maybe it was just too late :wink: Will try it again Spiff

Hi there, just tried it again and now i get further! The trick is not to press the Audio-CD Button again but to press the Harddisc-Button and after that on the headline -> then i'm in the playlist. I also found out that when i want to play a whole album from the harddisc i can just klick on the albu...

Hi, thanks for all the hints... I want to use MMS mainly as a music player. For CDs, music on hard disc and internet radio streams. When i want to listen to an audio CD for example i start MMS. 1. Insert audio CD 2. Then i press "Musik (CD/DVD)" 3. Then i press "CD an Playliste senden...

Maybe i can try to compile it on my bigger machine (Linux Mint). I think it's no fun to compile it on the VIA Epia Board :wink:
